Happy Feet Two hits theaters in the U.S. today. I hope it does well so that Dr D Studios and George Miller will be able to make more movies... it was a great team, the Studio treated us well and I enjoyed myself quite a bit.

Happy Feet 2
Wow, time flies... here's a short recap what I've been up to lately:
Right now I'm working at Dr.D Studios on Happy Feet 2, which will be released November 18. Check out those pics and the second trailer.
Before that I traveled Australia with my girlfriend, doing some remote jobs on the way: helped animating the Australian FIFA World Cup bid and the Baby Peas Superbowl commercial.

This is another one for illustration friday... on a pretty tight schedule, so it turned out to be more of an animatic than an actual animation. I hope you still like it - maybe I can smooth it out for next year... and even add a German version.
Btw, procrastination is a good friend of mine, too (isn't it sometimes weird, that things we really care about don't get done, because we want to deal with them properly when we have time and not rush them right now). But I just read a book (GTD by David Allen) and hope the suggestions will help getting more stuff done like this little short film.

Have you seen "Little Red Hot Riding Hood"? It's a great Tex Avery short from 1943. The makers of "The Mask" obviously have - Jim Carrey has a craving for Cameron Diaz. My mixed memories of those two films lead me to painting this green version of Mr. Wolf - hope you like it....another one for Illustration Friday.

Lilli the Witch
There's a teaser of Lilli the Witch online, as well as a small trailer and a couple of pictures. The movie is about a girl called Lilli who wants to become a witch and Hector (the tiny dragon), who helps her in her quest.I animated a couple of shots of Hector (one of them can be seen in the mentioned trailer - its the one corresponding to the pic above this post).

Vac Ant always hated to vacuum-clean after the queens' orgies. That you could see a huge difference before and after cleaning made it satisfactory, though.(another one for illustration friday)

The Dragon Hunters (Die Drachen Jäger (German)) DVD can be preordered at amazon.fr and amazon.de. Again, that was one of my favorite projects to work on... kind of sad if this means there won't be a theatrical release anywhere outside Europe.Well I guess it happens sometimes that you work on something you identify with that gets no attention at all and other pieces that you (and everybody else working on it) think are crap get marketed well and sell big time...

...long time no type. Here we go again - a little update on what I've been up to the last couple of weeks.Right now I'm working on a Mr. Clean tv-commercial for Spain and Italy. Before that I did some viral stuff including some more animation on the cups www.tassen.tv (German dialogue) as well as this blue bear for selectblinds www.selectblinds.com or at www.youtube.com
which I think turned out ok considering the tight schedule.

Dragonhunters trailer and website
Check out the new Dragon Hunters trailer! Again, I was having a ball working on that feature in 2006/2007 - especially with Pixar-pro Kyle Balda as animation supervisor. I learned so much. And I do think it is (animationwise at least) the best full-cg-feature produced in Europe so far.Take a look at my previous Dragonhunters post for more details.
